Well, with the fun and humidity of summer afternoons, also comes the afternoon coma in front of the tv, primarily watching brain-sucking shows that may or may not cause ADD - I guess we will see... Anyhow, many afternoons, the girls find themselves in front of the tube watching BOOM, which is a channel that runs old cartoons - some of which my folks remember from their youth. It may not grow brain power, but at least it is not breeding attitude problems, so I acquiesce. Mostly, there is Tom & Jerry or maybe The Perils of Penelope Pitstop (which I love because Skylar has begun imitating her cry for "Hey-alp"), both of which are entertaining enough. However, the ladies of the house have become quite enamored of a certain blushing jungle cat and a certain caped crusader and I find this amusing. So, they are now doing their best to find appropriate costuming to become these characters, but they are missing their mark a bit because Rhylan is not quite the pink panther, but a simply outfitted "Green Girl" complete with magnifying glass. It is possible that she is trying to be the inspector, but who knows? There was little explanation. Skylar, along the same vein, found little resembling a batman costume in her wardrobe, so settled for the purple pjs she wears often and is now referring to herself as "Purple Girl". She is a crime fighter who loves frogs, of all things. Hmmm. Summer is surely interesting around here...
