Last Day of Summer

So, Martin, my brother-in-law, has had his cancer surgery (well done and got it all - Praise God!) and while I was visiting with him, my sister and her mother-in-law, the girls were rewarded with a trip to the butterfly museum. They had stayed with my friend Lisa (and husband Brian and daughter Ella) last night while we went to the marathon orientation at school. Their behavior was good enough to warrant the trip - especially Skylar's, which was surprisingly good for Lisa, given history.

So, there we were in the middle of the Medical Center/Museum District for the day and the girls made hay while the sun shone.

So this is the last day of their summer and the first of day of my life as the mother of 2 school-aged kids. Many have asked what I plan to do with all of the "extra" time that I have, to which I chuckle and respond with a smile. Although I don't have a real plan, I think my time will be filled without any problems and quickly.

That dress looks familiar! The girls were great and they had a blast. Ella's looking forward to the next "sleep over." She doesn't need to know that really means an overnighter. Perhaps the sleep deprivation called for all 3 girls to have poor behavior today???
