Young Foodies

FOOD.

It seems to be at the center of our lives.  We gather in the kitchen, we assemble around the table and we belly up to the bar.  Our outings often revolve around a meal and our social gathers never fail to provide some sustenance.

WE LOVE FOOD.

In a continuing effort to grow culinarily astute short folks, we experiment in the kitchen.  The girls have tried their hands at many things from eggs to cookies and from tuna patties to burgers.  They have their own favorites, but they are always willing to crack an egg, prep some batter or pour ingredients into the pan.

Skylar has mastered several things:
  • use of the toaster oven - toasting/reheating
  • PB&J
  • tuna salad

Rhylan hasn't quite mastered much, but has fun anyhow with:
  • cracking eggs
  • stirring
  • pouring batters

As they become more self-sufficient, I become more thoughtful.  I am looking forward to the next phase of their home-economics instruction without fear or trepidation. They really do make me proud of their progress toward independence!
