A Blog-Worthy Lesson in the Bathtub

I am not normally the bath-giver. With that said, I am telling on myself here.

So, in the bath tonight, Rhy & Sky are doing their normal water damage to the surrounding area. I don't think much of it. I discover while in the bathroom that we are, indeed, completely out of toilet paper and quickly deem that an emergency run must be made, as we DON'T want to delve into our socks - we aren't barbarians, are we?

Chris leaves for said "tissue" run. I hear the door close and then it happens. I am leaning precariously over the side of the tub and KABLAM! I AM IN THE TUB WITH THE CHILDREN! MY FEET HAVING COME OUT FROM UNDERNEATH ME QUICKLY AND SURELY - I AM IN IT UP TO MY WAIST, BUT LEGS STAY MIRACULOUSLY DRY. Amid complete shock, I gather my wits about me, wipe my eyes (which are soap-ridden at this point) and try my very hardest not to laugh.

I MUST look rediculous, granted. However, I see an opportunity to turn this whole scene into a teaching tool - what to do when Mommy drowns because she has slipped on the wet tile - caused by bathing children - hit her head and cannot be roused. Luckily for them, they come up with the right answer - CALL 911!

The best part is that they BOTH questioned the ability to use the phone "by ourselves". I love it!

I am so glad you sent the link....sorry to say (hoping you are fine, maybe a little bruised) but...this made my morning...I am still laughing!!!! I love it that they were thoughtful not to use the phone by themselves. Glad you didn't drown. That is a good story.
love, tm

I wish there had been a camera or a video of that.....I laughed and smiled. What more can I ask for in blog and FB world? Hope you are feeling better.
