Zoolapalooza

It's Zoo-rific!

Skylar's 1st Grade class had their first field trip of the year last week and they were fortunate enough to be studying CREATION, so they went to the Houston Zoo.  Skylar loves the zoo - any zoo, really.  She pet a lizard, brushed a goat and even was able to "play" through the plexi-glass with the baby Orangutan that was born at the zoo last year.

Her very favorite exhibit, though, is the cheetahs ("because they're SO fast!").  The cheetahs are housed with a couple of herding dogs to keep them company, a fact that Skylar found "quite interesting."

It was a great early October day - sunny and not too warm at only 85 degrees.  We barely sweat at all!

In the end, her class had a blast and were very well behaved.  They had popsicles back at the school because of their nice manners all day.
