Well, I can't seem to find any, but I hear that you are supposed to "batten" them down when a storm approaches. I am still unclear exactly what "battening" is, but since I can't find any hatches, it seems no "battening" is necessary.
So, we will be here, hunkering down in the hall closet and praying that the tree in the front yard doesn't complete its split down the trunk, but hope for enough roof damage to have that redone. We are not quite sure where we will be putting the dogs, as they will not fit in the closet with us (although they probably will try). We are just going to have to play that by ear.
I am so glad NO ONE is panicking, though... I mean aside from all those looneys at the store and the gas station and hardware store. Oh, I forgot momentarily... WE are not panicking, but evidently there are MANY others who are. We found the grocery store to be an exceptional experience, one fraught with danger and suspense! Will there be bread? Will there be water? Why is there a run on applesauce on aisle 9? How many cans of beanie weenie could a grown man eat (by the way, he being appropriately attired in wife-beater, overalls and ball cap, not having shaved in this century and evidently experiencing some peculiar dental anomalies)? Anyhow, so there was NO bread, NO bananas, NO canned tuna and NO deviled ham (much to Chris' disappointment, I am sure). What is the world coming to when a store actually RUNS OUT of Spam? Well, it's a world I am not sure I want to be in.
So, Ike, stay away. If you won't stay away, then party at Casa Jones!

The dogs should go in the hallway. You went to the wrong store..there was plenty of banannas at HEB. If we loose communication, come over if you can. We'll parte' together.
Hope y'all weather the storm well ... I can send you some "lentils et saucisson" in a can if need be - I've got two big cans of the stuff not sure why, but it seemed like a good idea at the time!
